polis- the name for their city-state
the year 506 bc - people overthrow the government & tyrant. 1st time someone has ever rose up against a leader & overthrew them.
Socrates- philosopher, who questioned everything and asked why someone belived certain things.
death of Socrates- he "failed to ackowledge the gods" and questioned the tyrant so he was sentenced to jail and was forced to drink poison.
Socrates method - questioned his students and ask what they belived in and why.
idiot- means they didnt vote.
